Lesson number 2

"Nobody Knows You" by Jimmy Foxx (1920's Blues)

Intermediate level

Arrangement written by Tom Faigin

Nobody Knows You - is a song you might have heard played by Eric Clapton on his CD "Unpluged".  It's a song I learned 20 years ago from my Uncle and it's one of my favorite tunes.

The fractions you see (when you click "Lesson-2") tell us the string and fret to play. "46" means you play the 4th string and the 6th fret. The bottom or lower part of the fraction is always the string and the top part of the fraction is the fret you press. If there is a "0" on top and a 4 on the bottom, (40) you play the 4th string open - no frets. You should know the thin string is the 1st string and the thickest is the 6th string.

In this tune you will see symbols for your fingers. They are:

"T" is thumb - "I" is index - "M" is middle - "R" is ring, "P" is pinky and "PL" means pluck (usually using your thumb to stroke the string(s) downward and the index finger to stroke the string(s) upward both at the same time).

Believe it or not this is only one method to writing "TAB".
